a famous "old bridge" over the arno river in florence
been there since 996
there are a bunch of little shops!
all diamonds..we didn't go inside
next we took a train to cinque terre ("the 5 lands") for the weekend
a string of 5 towns on the coast
i liked watching the director girl walking around saying, "azione!"
we went hiking the next morning
probably the most beautiful hike i've ever been on
our guide, marco
he loves nature
we stopped to eat lunch on the trail
pretty good view, i guess

this is the only town (of the 5) that has a pebbled beach
created by a landslide
we walked down "lovers' lane"
lovers come to put their locks all down the lane
here's how they do farming in cinque terre
mostly grapes, of course
some baby grapes!
they also like to build houses basically on top of each other
i would too for a view like that..
we watched some baby birds eat lunch while we ate lunch

their beaks do kind of look like her cone head...
we stopped in pisa on the way back to ariccia
and took the cliche picture
